Forensic Services to Law Firms
If
there is the possibility of electronic evidence testimony in your case,
it is important to you that your side wins the “dueling experts” game.
You can
be sure that their "expert" is going to be a trained police officer
(usually retired) or worse yet, a prior police technician who has taken
some computer forensic classes offered by a software manufacturer. If you
intend to win, you do not want to argue to a jury that your trained
former cop is a better “expert” then their trained former cop!
If
you intend to win, you need to hire a real computer expert, a real Computer
Science Ph.D., with over 30 years of real computer forensic experience.
When you hire Dr. William J.
Burns, Ph. D. and Reactive Networking, you are assured that your expert
is one of the best, if not the best, in the nation. Our examiners are
not just trained former police officers using a commercially available
canned program. Our examiners have been recognized as experts and have testified
as experts in most of Florida’s
urban Circuits, and in two of the three Florida Federal District Courts.
Chances are, we are already recognized as Computer Forensic Experts in
your Florida Circuit court. If you have not done so yet, we invite you to
click on this Dr.
William Burns link to see his Resume, or click on this “Experts”
link to see the CV’s of our other expert examiner Michael J. Peter.
Recently there have arisen
organizations that offer “certification “ in computer forensics for a fee,
a few hours of on-line study, and finally an on-line test. We invite you
to examine the course of study that our Examiners completed before they
were allowed to be called Reactive Certified Computer Forensic Examiners.
HERE. If you decide to
compare, the two questions that you need to ask when hiring a computer
forensic examiner are:
1.
“How long has it been since you left the government and entered
active private
practice?”
2. Which Florida courts have recognized you as an
expert?”
Presentation
of findings
Once evidence has been
discovered, it must be presented properly to have the desired
effect. We know that this
stuff is complicated! We
know that your first goal is to present enough information to the other
side before trial to get them to back off, and we know that your second
goal is to present overwhelming proof to the court that your case is
unassailable!
Our reports at the end of
discovery are always clear, concise, non technical and logical. We work
closely with you to present a report that enhances your position while
minimizing your deficiencies. We do such a good job of presenting our
evidence that currently 89.9% of our cases conclude successfully before
or by the end of discovery.
Where we really shine is in
Court. First, watch your opponent scurry around trying to find another
expert with a comparable CV. Next sit down with your Reactive Networking
examiner who will work closely with you to produce an articulate and
knowledgeable expert testimony, coupled with a detailed, understandable,
and memorable scripted presentation for you to present to the court.
Depending
on resources we offer Disney like productions, with sound and animation,
that will present to the court your digital exhibits in a logical progression
that will rise to a crescendo of sound and action as you drive home your
unassailable conclusion! … or if you have only the most modest of means,
we offer at no additional cost, a scripted presentation consisting
of a Power Point presentation, or a series of slide shots, projected onto
a screen, that will graphically show step by step your logical case,
leading like before, to your unassailable conclusion. Finally, sit back
and watch your expert calmly and logically answer your opponent’s questions
on cross.
Know that when you retain
Reactive Networking, LLC, you will always get the most thorough and
knowledgably computer forensic examiner available, and the best
presentation your resources can afford, followed by the calmest and most distinguished
cross demeanor you have ever witnessed.
Services
to the Civil side of your practice
Civil litigation is not the
same old paper chase that it used to be. The big corporate product
liability case on the one hand, and the lowly divorce case on the other
hand have at least one thing in common ... the information you need to
successfully try or defend the case almost always resides on some
electronic media someplace.
|
Corporate litigation frequently is about who
knew what, and when did they know it. Memos, e-mails, and spreadsheets
may contain the answers you are looking for. Altered or missing memos,
e-mails and files can also contain just as many answers. Uncovering
which files were deleted or altered, and by whom, is a good indication
of culpability. The differences between originals and altered files
points to what the perpetrator was attempting to accomplish or hide,
and the date stamps tell when the changes were made.
Divorce settlements frequently require information stored on the
family's computer. A spouse's attempt to hide assets by deleting or
altering files can be easily uncovered by our staff, facilitating the
fair distribution of those joint assets.

Reactive Networking has the
ability to go into the electronic media and find the answers you are
looking for. We have been doing it for over 15 years! We crack password
protected areas and resurrect deleted files. We recover e-mails and
Faxes, and we maintain the evidential chain of custody necessary for your
evidence to be accepted in court.
Services to the Criminal (Defense) Side of your practice
When
electronic evidence is at issue, defense attorneys can be out gunned by
the prosecution's deep pockets. Frequently, police or prosecutors
"inform" you during discovery that they have determined that
such and such was on the accused's computer. We recently heard of a child
pornography case where discovery resulted in a set of third generation
photocopies of the alleged pornographic pictures being presented to the
defense as fulfillment of their duty to produce. Eventually the digital
media was examined and it was determined that the models were well over
18 years of age. More disturbing, was that the police department's shift
schedule was found on the seized computer!
Digital
evidence should be treated with the same degree of care as biological
evidence, or any other physical evidence, and you have the right to have
your own experts examine the evidence from digital media that is in the
same pristine condition that it was in when the prosecution's experts
initially examined it. Reactive Networking knows the law and the rules of evidence.
Guilt
or innocence is frequently determined by expert testimony. If there is a
possibility that your client is innocent, it is important that you win
the dueling experts game. You know that their "expert" is going
to be a trained police officer. If you intend to win, you do not want to
argue to the jury that your trained former cop is a better expert then
their trained current cop. If you intend to win, you will want to hire a
real computer expert, a real Ph.D. with real experience. You will hire
Reactive Networking, and relax, knowing that your expert is more then
just a trained police officer using a canned program.
Looking
for an alibi? If your client was on his computer at the time of the
incident, we may be able to give you one. Is it a set up? We can
frequently tell you who typed it, when, and on which machine. If it went
out over the web, we can tell from where it was sent, and when. We also
may be able to tell you which printer produced it too.
Services for the Prosecution
Guilt
or innocence is often determined by expert testimony. It is also true
that many smaller police agencies cannot afford to have a computer
forensics investigator on staff full time. If one of your agencies
presents to you a case for prosecution that includes a computer or
computer generated evidence, you may need the services of Reactive
Networking. We will conduct the through investigation that is demanded by
today's courts while maintaining an ironclad chain of custody. Our
findings will be presented to you and to the court in a manner that is
detailed yet understandable, and our expert testimony will be conducted
with professionalism by a degreed examiner.
Digital
evidence should be treated with the same degree of care as biological, or
any other physical evidence. Reactive Networking will find and present
the evidence you need, if it resides on the seized magnetic media.
